The New York University Black Allied Law Students Association (BALSA) was founded on the campus of New York University in 1968 and it has gone on to flourish for over 40 years. With over 100 members, NYU BALSA continues to touch and enhance the lives of not only its members but also the NYU Law community at large.
BALSA exists for the support, guidance, and development of our members in their academic, social, and professional pursuits. We strive to create a close-knit community that will provide our members with the relationships that will comprise the foundation of their legal network, while offering opportunities to develop the skills needed to advance the greater good.
On February 12, 2015, BALSA will host a Black History Month Gala to commemorate the legacy of the chapter and honor several of its esteemed alumni. NYU BALSA will invite the scholarship awardee to its Black History Month Gala on February 12, 2015 at which time he or she will be presented with the scholarship.
The Legends Scholarship is $3,000.
